Most of us know that to achieve the goal of living a healthy lifestyle, we must eat healthy and be active on a regular basis. However, enough focus is not placed on how to remain consistent. That is, how to get motivated and stay motivated, and how do we get back on track when our motivation wanes. This is where most of us are struggling.
Think of it as the missing variable in the healthy lifestyle equation.
Instead of: healthy eating + being active = healthy lifestyle
The correct equation should be: healthy eating + being active + consistency = healthy lifestyle
Many benefits are associated with living a healthier lifestyle. These include more energy, improved mental health, and increased confidence from looking and feeling great.
This is also important as we continue to see the chronic lifestyle diseases (diabetes, hypertension/high blood pressure (the silent killer), stroke, heart disease) which continue to plague our community. There is now an urgent need to combat these diseases through permanent lifestyle changes.
With over 16 years of experience as an Associate Professor of Psychology, and over 20 years of building the mental fortitude to remain consistent, I decided to step into the space of how do we teach our community to finally get unstuck, remain consistent, and make the permanent changes needed to achieve the goal of a healthier lifestyle.
In addition to writing and publishing Push Past 10 (A simple guide for making permanent change) and the accompanying journal for success, I currently work with individuals, NGOs, churches and groups, where people are looking to finally achieve their healthy lifestyle goal.
My goal is to provide tools, resources, and a community of support ( to date, over 700 subscribers on YouTube) for those of us who are looking to make permanent changes, and to be more consistent with adopting and maintaining a healthier lifestyle, (as well as achieving other life goals).
It is for this reason that I continue to seek opportunities to partner and collaborate with those who are working to empower our community to live healthier lifestyles, and to combat the chronic lifestyle diseases which continue to plague our communities.
